To provide a community-focused learning hub to foster learning and cultivate curiosity for students at all ages.
Fort Bend Learning Commons ("FBLC") is more than just a learning center for students to improve their education. FBLC is established based on the concept that there ought to be a safe learning environment that supports students learning from different angles during and beyond their class time at FBLC. After spending 10 years in public education, the owner, Mr. Chan, crystalizes the best practices in science and math education and apply them at FBLC to help students excel. From various learning theories to psychological cognitive models, Mr. Chan is trained, experienced, and knowledgeable on creating optimal learning experience to facilitate learning.
FBLC not only focuses on students' academic growth but on their college and career readiness as well. From time to time, there will be short courses and workshops offered to students to equip them with 21st century skills such as communication skills (e.g. public speaking and presentation), technology skills (e.g. using Microsoft Excel for data processing), and data literacy (e.g. visualizing and interpreting data).
