For our academic programs, we will only provide the best quality education from experienced, highly qualified, and certified instructors. We promise to parents and students that our students will not be taught by high school or university students in any circumstances for our academic programs.
Research has shown that class size matters. An effective classroom must take strike a balance between collaboration and focused attention. We promise to our parents and students that the teacher to student ratio during each tutorial session would be 1-to-3 students or less.
Our goal is to bring the best education to the children and it is very important that we develop any teaching materials and strategies from students' perspective. We perceive education not only as a grade, but the stepping stone for their and the society's greater success. We work to help students appreciate academics so that they are getting good grades and clear direction of their academic and career future.
We provide sustainably learning environment both physically and intellectually. The Commons (study area) provides necessary materials anded setting to promote learning. Our teaching will open doors for students to explore and acknowledge that learning is not only for grades. We believe that when students see the purpose of learning in a safe environment, they will certain excel and their grades will duly reflect their knowledge gain.
Mr. Chan is certified by Texas Education Agency State Board of Educator in both mathematics and science (Grade 8-12) since 2008.
Besides serving as a public school educator, he has prior experience facilitating chemistry teacher training workshops at Rice University. He was selected as presenter at National Science Teacher Association (NSTA) national conferences (2010-2014).
In his ten-year adventure in public education, Mr. Chan has earned recognitions from different organizations and institutions. He was recently awarded by the University of Chicago as one of the Outstanding Educators and by the U.S. Department of Education as one of the U.S. Presidential Scholar's most influential teachers in 2016. In his ten-year adventure in public education, Mr. Chan has earned recognitions from different organizations and institutions. He was recently awarded by the University of Chicago as one of the Outstanding Educators and by the U.S. Department of Education as one of the U.S. Presidential Scholar's most influential teachers in 2016. In 2017, Mr. Chan was selected as one of the Teacher of the Year finalists at Clements High School.
Other awards include Clements High School Rookie Teacher of the Year and Outstanding Asian Pacific American Educator Award by Chinese Cultural Center.
Mr. Chan's teaching is unique and effective because it relies heavily on research findings in science and mathematics education research. One of his expertise is to use cognitive learning theories to help students understand and construct concepts that are known to be challenging for many.
